Description:

♦ Zones:  4 - 8     Height:  15 - 18"     Exposure:  Full Sun ♦

The New England Aster is compact and free flowering.  They form robust semi-woody clumps which flower from late summer into fall.  Each arching branch is covered with blossoms. Tolerant of wet conditions, they are native to Eastern and Central United States.  They are mildew resistant and disease resistant.  They attract butterflies and do well in containers.  They are good for cut flowers.  Pinch back and divide mums for best display.  General rule is to pinch back until the 4th of July – and not after.  Pinching yields better branching and more flowers.
