Description:

♦ Zones:  4 - 8     Height:  18"     Exposure:  Part Shade ♦

A beautiful and hard to obtain species from Japan and Korea. It is hardy and evergreen. The common name seems to refer to the visibility of the sori and veins from the top of the frond.  This fern certainly has a distinct appearance with its almost glassy fronds.  It prefers slightly moist soil and light shade, a mulch will help achieve the preferred soil conditions.  Its delicate looking arching fronds make a dramatic contrast with other ferns growing nearby. This fern is also very suitable for containers.
