Baptisia 'Purple Smoke' is a shrubby perennial with smoky violet flowers and gray-green foliage on charcoal stems.  Flowers appear in mid-spring.  Good for poor soils in sunny locations.  Efective in groups in prairie or meadow gardens.  Also works well in naturalized areas or borders.
